Racial bullying and vandalism have been on the rise in the United States ever since Donald Trump was elected President.

In Brooklyn alone, 13 swastikas have appeared in the city since election day and the latest ones have appeared in Adam Yauch Park. Formerly known as Palmetto Playground, the Brooklyn park was rechristened with the name of the late Beastie Boy on May 3, 2013 in a moving and public ceremony. 

A humanitarian and a Buddhist, Yauch was a human rights activist who was heavily involved in Tibetan independence.

In a cruel and disturbing act of hatred, Adam Yauch Park was vandalized with the phrase “Go Trump” along with several swastikas painted all over playground equipment.

Brad Lander, a New York City councilman whose geographical purview includes Brooklyn, took to Twitter to write: “Yet more hatred & anti-Semitism from Trump supporters.”

He went on to write: “No place for hate. We will not be cowed.”

Lander told CNN that the graffiti was painted over with flowers.

There will be a rally on Sunday morning at the park and the surviving members of the Beastie Boys are asking fans to attend.
